Paris Hilton's beloved chihuahua dead at 14

Paris Hilton is mourning the loss of her pet pooch - the socialite's chihuahua Tinkerbell has died.

Hilton's one-time constant companion, her first dog, was 14 years old.

The pet was often featured in celebrity photos and hit the headlines in 2004 after burglars hit Paris' home - and the pooch went missing.

Tinkerbell showed up six days later after Paris offered a $5,000 (GBP3,330) reward for her pet's safe return.

Announcing the sad news on Instagram.com, Hilton writes, "My heart is broken. I am so sad & devastated. I feel like I've lost a member of my family.

"I love you Tinky, you are a Legend & will never be forgotten."
