Oprah Winfrey defends the Kardashians
Oprah Winfrey has defended the Kardashian family after actress Rebel Wilson accused Kim and company of having no talent.
The legendary talk show host and media mogul previously interviewed the reality TV family for her show Oprah's Next Chapter, and now she has leaped to their their defence following the Pitch Perfect actress' recent comments about them, insisting the Kardashians have a very healthy work ethic.
"I interviewed the Kardashians two years ago and I can’t believe
how hard they work," she told KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show in
Australia on Monday (09Nov15). "People don’t understand that.
People think, 'Oh, if a television camera’s just following you,
then that’s just easy'. To really create a reality series that
looks like something's actually happening, it means you have to be
'on' all the time.
"I went to film them as a family and I couldn't believe how hard
they worked. We were there for seven hours and they were gonna tape
another seven hours after I left. No matter who you are, that is
work."
Oprah's comments follow Rebel's refusal to present an award with
Kendall, 20, and Kylie, 18, at the MTV Video Music Awards in August
(15).
The actress recently told the Kyle and Jackie O Show, "They’re
famous for no talent. I said I’d do it myself. What they stand for
is totally against what I stand for.
"They seem a bit superficial and their careers aren't really based
on talent. I know they're super popular, but I'm all about
personality and working hard to get to where I am."
