One Direction movie sequel confirmed
One Direction are filming a follow-up to their hit feature film documentary This Is Us, according to director Morgan Spurlock.
The What Makes You Beautiful hitmakers sparked rumors they are working on a sequel to their 2013 movie after they were spotted being followed by a film crew as they trekked up to the Machu Picchu landmark in Peru last month (Apr14).
Now Spurlock, who directed This Is Us, has confirmed the group will
hit the big screen for a second time - and the boys have their eyes
on picking up an Oscar for their next effort.
He says, "Yes, there will be a follow-up to This Is Us. At this
moment (producer) Ben Winston is with the band on their world tour
filming what happens. He worked with me and is a great
producer."
"I know Simon Cowell wants the band to get awards for this and was
upset when they missed out on being nominated in the music category
for an Oscar on our film.
"I was surprised that they weren't even considered. This time he
will want them to try again."
The group formed on Cowell's U.K. talent show The X Factor in
2010.
