One Direction fans flock to Liam Payne's family home over contest confusion

Liam Payne's family home was surrounded by frantic One Direction fans after a radio competition to find hidden concert tickets went awry.

Two tickets to the What Makes You Beautiful hitmakers' sold-out concert in Birmingham, England on Friday night (22Mar13) were offered up by hosts at local radio station Free Radio, who issued six clues to the tickets' hiding place.

Around 100 listeners gathered at the Payne property in Wolverhampton, England after misunderstanding the clues and began searching in bushes, plant pots and under trash cans, according to Britain's The Sun.

The singer's father, Geoff Payne, tells the publication, "I'm much better now that the competition is over. I've had people loitering around the house for days on end now, I'm glad someone won it. There have been people hiding round corners looking for them."

The tickets were eventually discovered taped to the back of a street sign nearby and DJs Nigel Freshman and Cat James have since apologized to the star's father for the confusion.

A source adds, "The fans were in Liam's family's front garden for quite a while. His dad rang the show to say he was relieved the competition was over as fans were mooching (hanging) around the lawn. Geoff saw the funny side of it, thankfully."
