One Direction accept MTV EMAs without ill Zayn Malik

One Direction star Zayn Malik was forced to sit out a band video link to the MTV European Music Awards on Sunday (09Nov14) because he was too sick to appear in the acceptance speech clips.

The Story Of My Life hitmakers were the big winners at ceremony in Glasgow, Scotland but only four of the quintet appeared onscreen to thank fans for their three trophies for Biggest Fans, Best Pop and Best Live Performance.

Ceremony presenter Laura Whitmore revealed that Malik was at home in bed and was too ill to join his bandmates.
