No Doubt delay comeback album until 2012

Written by . Published: September 16 2011

Rockers No Doubt have pushed back the release of their first album in a decade because the new material isn't ready yet.

The group's last album Rock Steady came out in 2001 and the band went on hiatus in 2004 to concentrate on solo projects.

Singer Gwen Stefani announced earlier this year (11) that the band was busy in the recording studio and that fans could expect a new record before the year was over - but the rockers have now released a statement explaining the date has been pushed back until 2012.

A message on their official website reads, "Ideally our new record would be coming out this year but it's just not ready yet. We don't want to rush this album just to get it out. This collection of songs means everything to us and our only priority right now is to make sure that it's the best album we can possibly make. There is still more work for us to do.

"We love our fans and are doing this for your ears and want you to know how much we appreciate your patience and support."
