Nick Cannon made commemorative mould from babies' hand and footprints
Nick Cannon celebrated the birth of his twins with wife Mariah Carey by having a special commemorative mould made from their babies' hand and footprints.
The stars welcomed daughter Monroe and son Moroccan on 30 April (11) - the same day the couple marked its third wedding anniversary.
Cannon showered his superstar wife with diamonds as a present for becoming a new mum, but he also made sure they had a less materialistic memory of the twins' birth.
So he had their kids' hand and footprints placed in a cement mould and framed as a surprise for Carey to mark the special occasion.
Speaking on daytime show The Talk, he says, "There's only so much jewellery you can buy Mariah Carey! So I got some very nice earrings for her 'cause that was the traditional thing, but then I wanted arts and crafts so what I did for the 'push' gift, and being that it was our anniversary and stuff, you know how you can get the handprints and feet prints? I wanted to get this whole thing built (sic). (But) nobody told me how difficult it was gonna be to get them little feet (sic)!
"So I'm in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) trying to get the babies' (prints)... But we pulled it off and we got this really nice frame with bible scriptures and stuff. It was hard work!"
