Niall Horan dismisses Katy Perry date rumors

One Direction star Niall Horan has laughed off reports suggesting he enjoyed a dinner date with his celebrity crush Katy Perry on Wednesday (04Dec13) after they were both photographed leaving the same New York restaurant moments after one another.

The boyband singer has made no secret of his lust for Perry and jokingly proposed to John Mayer's girlfriend via Twitter.com in October (13) after meeting her backstage at a star-studded event.

Horan sent gossips into a spin again on Wednesday after he and Perry were both spotted at Manhattan's trendy Soho House, sparking rumors he had landed his dream date - but the Best Song Ever hitmaker insists the run-in was just a pleasant coincidence.

During an interview with radio host Ryan Seacrest on Thursday morning (05Dec13), the 20 year old explained, "I was in there and I think she was doing an interview or something and she was there. I was leaving and she left and we didn't have dinner or anything together. I just said, 'Hello' to her."
