Niall Horan denies relationship with Olympia Valance

Niall Horan has insisted he is "a very single man" after being romantically linked to soap star Olympia Valance.

The former One Direction band member shot down the talk of a budding romance between himself and the Neighbors star during an interview with Aussie radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson on their KIIS FM breakfast show.

His denial comes after Olympia recently shared news of their growing closeness in an interview with British newspaper The Sun telling the publication: "We are quite close. I see him when I come to London and he sees me when he’s in Oz."

By contrast the Slow Hands singer played the talk down and revealed he was enjoying life as an unattached popstar.

"I'm a very single man," he responded when asked about his relationship status. And when Kyle probed for more by saying, "Fantastic, is it the best?" Niall added: "You know, I'm 24 and traveling the world and that's the way it is."

Olympia - whose sister is former Neighbors star and singer Holly Valance - recently revealed that she had been spending time with the superstar and they had been messaging each other, but fell short of confirming that they were an item.

"We’ve known each other for a couple of years now. He obviously spends a lot of time in Australia with his cousins,” she told the publication. "We just met in Australia and we’ve been messaging ever since and yeah, we have hung out together a bit."

The actress and Niall were pictured together at a cricket match in Melbourne earlier this month, but in an appearance on news program 60 Minutes on Sunday, the singer-songwriter clarified, "We just hung out in Melbourne. Her friends are friends with some of my friends that are living there."

Meanwhile, the singer is promoting his debut solo album Flicker, and is facing stiff competition from the late George Michael to claim the number one spot in the U.K. album chart. George’s Listen Without Prejudice, originally a No. 1 after its release in 1990, is currently leading at the halfway stage and sits at number one on the Official Chart Update.
