Ne-Yo signs new artist via Facebook

Ne-Yo has signed an emerging artist to his record label after discovering her music on social networking site Facebook.com.

The So Sick hitmaker is helping singer Sonna Rele launch a music career through his Compound Entertainment company and he unveiled his protege during his gig in London on Thursday night (07Mar13).

He told DigitalSpy.co.uk, "I'm really excited about it. She's an incredible talent and I didn't want to make the mistake I've made before of letting an incredible artist slip through my fingers.

"I'm not making that mistake with this one. It definitely wasn't something I was expecting to do - even my team were surprised by (the) whole thing as it was very sudden."

Rele adds, "I knew Ne-Yo was intrigued by the music as we've been talking for a while, but I had no idea that I would get signed like this... I am over the moon!"
