Natalie Portman in talks for U.S. Supreme Court Justice biopic

Actress Natalie Portman has been tapped to portray America's first female Jewish Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in a new biopic.

The Black Swan star is in talks to lead the cast of On The Basis of Sex, which will detail the Democrat's career-long efforts to champion women's causes and the obstacles she had to overcome in her fight for equal rights.

Diary of a Teenage Girl's Marielle Heller is in negotiations to direct, ahead of a planned production start at the end of the year (15), reports Deadline.com.

Ginsburg made history by becoming the second woman, and the first Jewish lady, on the U.S. Supreme Court bench following her appointment by then-President Bill Clinton in 1993.
