Mischa Barton 'joins Dancing with the Stars'

Mischa Barton is reportedly aiming for victory as a contestant on the upcoming season of TV series Dancing With The Stars.

The former star of The O.C. is said to be trading the beach for the ballroom for the 22nd installment of the reality competition program and will be partnered with professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev.

Barton, 30, is tipped to be joining Full House actress Jodie Sweetin, Facts of Life star Kim Fields, TV meteorologist Ginger Zee, and America's Next Top Model winner Nyle DiMarco for the new series.

It was also recently revealed that six-time mirrorball champion Derek Hough will not be returning to the show as he prepares to take the Broadway stage in Singing in the Rain.

The full cast will be revealed on breakfast show Good Morning America on 8 March (16), and the new season of the program begins on 21 March (16).
