Miley Cyrus skips performance to remain in Australia - report
Miley Cyrus dropped out of a performance in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (05Jan16) to spend more time on vacation in Australia, according to a report.
The Wrecking Ball singer was scheduled to sing Hands of Love from the movie Freeheld at a party thrown in L.A. to promote the song before voting closes for the 2016 Academy Awards.
During the bash, Linda Perry, who wrote the track, announced Miley
could not make it because she was still Down Under, where she is
rumoured to be rekindling her romance with former fiance Liam
Hemsworth, according to E! Online.
The former couple was spotted kissing and cuddling at the Falls
Festival in Byron Bay, Australia, on Saturday (02Jan16), more than
two years after they called time on their relationship.
Linda also told E! Online how Freeheld star Ellen Page recruited
Miley to sing the gay rights anthem, saying, "She (Ellen) called
her and Miley said yes... I was expecting a... hurricane but she
came in all chill, ready to be of service, sang the song like three
times and was like, 'Linda, do you need anything else?' She was so
generous with her time. She was so sweet. I'm a huge fan now
because of that."
Christina Aguilera, Courtney Love and Juliette Lewis performed at
the party.
Liam previously revealed to Men's Fitness magazine that he will
always have feelings for Miley, saying, "You fall in love with who
you fall in love with... You can never choose. I guess some people
just come with a little more baggage.
"I mean, look - we were together five (sic) years... So I don't
think those feelings will ever change. And that's good because that
proves to me that it was real. It wasn't just a fling. It really
was an important part of my life and always will be."
They met on the set of The Last Song in 2009 and became engaged in
in 2012. They announced their split in September, 2013.
