Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys join The Voice
Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys have been announced as the new judges on The Voice.
Bosses at TV station NBC confirmed in a statement on Friday (25Mar16) that the two women will join Adam Levine and Blake Shelton on season 11 of the talent show.
Current judges Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams will be
leaving after the tenth series comes to an end.
"It's true! I am going to be the newest judge on Season 11 of The
Voice," the Wrecking Ball hitmaker confirmed on Twitter. She added
on Instagram, "Season 11 s**t is gonna go offffff (sic)! I can't
wait!"
Miley is due to appear on the latest series as an adviser to
Christina's team as the live knockout rounds of the singing
competition begin on Monday (28Mar16).
Alicia, who previously served as a mentor to Pharrell's team back
in 2014, is also due to join the judging line-up, her
representative confirmed to Entertainment Tonight.
Pharrell retweeted Miley's' announcement, welcoming her to the
show. "Congrats sis!" he wrote. "Welcome to the @NBCTheVoice
family."
The Voice judging line-up has seen many famous faces fill the red
chairs, including Gwen Stefani, Shakira, Usher and CeeLo Green.
Gwen made her return to the singing competition earlier this month
(Mar16) by serving as a mentor to boyfriend Blake's team in the
battle rounds.
The country crooner said that it was an easy decision to get the
former No Doubt frontwoman onboard to help his contestants. "You
start thinking, 'Who are the ultimate artists out there that you
can get to mentor your team?'" he said.
"You start thinking - you do - 'Wait a minute! This is perfect. And
I actually know her. It'll be easy to call her.'"
