Migos rapper Offset hit with battery charges after jail fight
Jailed Migos rapper Offset is facing additional charges of battery after allegedly becoming embroiled in a brawl behind bars in Georgia over the weekend (02-03May15).
The hip-hop star, real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus, has been held without bail ever since a police raid during a concert at Georgia Southern University last month (Apr15) led to the arrests of the rap star and his fellow group members Quavo and Takeoff.
They were booked for drug possession, marijuana possession,
possession of firearms in a school safety zone, and possession of
firearms during the commission of a crime.
Quavo and Takeoff were subsequently released on bail, while Offset
was remanded in custody due to a prior felony conviction - and he
found himself in more trouble on Saturday (02May15) when he
allegedly clashed with a fellow inmate at Bullock County Jail.
According to Bullock County Sheriff's Investigator Walter Deal, the
fight was caught on surveillance cameras and the victim was left
with a "visible injury to the right side of the head". The man,
whose identity has not been released, also pinpointed Offset as his
attacker.
The embattled rapper has since been slapped with further counts of
battery and causing a riot in a penal institution.
It's the latest set-back for the group, which recently postponed
its North American tour due to the legal troubles.
