Michael Jackson resurrected for new Pepsi commercials
Michael Jackson is coming back from the dead to star in a series of new Pepsi cola commercials.
Marketing bosses at the soda firm have signed a deal with the executors of the King of Pop's estate, allowing them to use his image for a new global ad campaign to coincide with the upcoming re-release of his 1987 album Bad.
The Thriller superstar's photo will also feature on special Pepsi
cans and consumers will also have the chance to win the opportunity
to download remixes of his hits.
Ironically, Jackson is believed to have developed his addiction to
prescription painkillers after burning his scalp while filming an
infamous 1984 Pepsi commercial. A stunt went horribly wrong and his
hair caught on fire.
However, the singer moved past the accident and reteamed with Pepsi
executives again in 1988 and 1991.
An estate representative tells TMZ.com, "We're here to market the
re-release of the Bad album and Pepsi is the most effective place
to do it."
