Matt Damon planning to celebrate Christmas twice
Matt Damon's kids will be getting double the presents this year (12) as the actor decided to embrace some of his wife's Latin traditions.
The Good Will Hunting star married Luciana Barroso in 2005 and together they have three girls, Isabella, six, Gia, four, and Stella, two.
Damon is also stepdad to the former bartender's daughter from a
previous relationship, Alexia, 14, and the busy father admits he is
just excited to relax with the family after spending much of the
year co-writing and shooting the Promised Land, in which he stars
alongside John Krasinski.
He tells People.com, "I’m just going to hang out with my kids.
We’ve been on the Promised Land (promotional) train a little bit...
so... we’re looking forward to just settling down.”
But because his partner is from Argentina, where it is custom to
open presents on Christmas Eve (24Dec12), Damon had to do extra
shopping this year (12) to make sure his children had enough gifts
to unwrap the following morning.
He adds, "We do the Latin American Christmas Eve gift opening and
we do the American Christmas morning gift opening. We have this
weird fusion for Christmas, but I think it just means more gifts
for the kids, so they’re into it."
