Mark Wahlberg and Sean 'Diddy' Combs bet $250,000 on Floyd Mayweather fight
Actor Mark Wahlberg and rap mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs are going head-to-head in a $250,000 bet over the outcome of the highly-anticipated big fight between Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.
The Fighter star is convinced Pacquiao will be crowed the champion when he enters the boxing ring with Combs' pick Mayweather, Jr. next Saturday (02May15) at Las Vegas' MGM Grand, even though his opponent remains undefeated.
Combs posted a video of the pair's friendly exchange on
Instagram.com on Friday (24Apr15) and in the footage, the hip-hop
star can be heard suggesting they put a $100,000 wager down, to
which Wahlberg replies, "Why so little?". They then agree to raise
the stakes to $250,000.
The ring rivals have been in negotiations on and off since 2008 to
strike a deal for the big fight, and after finally setting a date,
Mayweather has promised to give fans "the biggest event in the
history of the sport".
