Mariah Carey to headline New Years Rockin' Eve show in New York
Mariah Carey will ring in the New Year later this month (Dec16) in New York City as the headliner of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest.
The Hero hitmaker will take to the stage in Times Square before the ball drops on 31 December (16), alongside DNCE, country singer Thomas Rhett, and Gloria Estefan, who will be accompanied by the cast of her Broadway musical On Your Feet!
Mariah, who considers herself the queen of the holidays, last
performed at the show in 2005.
The performance will cap a rough year for the singer, who finalized
her divorce from ex-husband Nick Cannon and split from her
now-former fiance James Packer in September (16).
She'll be hoping to start off 2017 with a new romance after
reportedly embarking on a relationship with back-up dancer Bryan
Tanaka. Rumors suggesting the 46-year-old singer is more than just
friends with Bryan have been swirling for months, and on Monday
(28Nov16), Mariah decided to set the record straight by confirming
her new love in an impromptu photo shoot on the beach in Maui,
Hawaii.
In the pictures, obtained by the Daily Mail Online, Mariah can be
seen wrapping her leg around his waist as he plants a kiss on her
lips. Showing off his impressive moves, Bryan then dipped Mariah so
low her hair almost touches the sand, before picking her back up
and carrying her gallantly out of the surf.
Mariah is also gearing up to debut her eight-part reality series,
Mariah's World, which features footage of her planning her wedding
to Packer. Mariah has admitted it was difficult to watch the
process play out on the small screen, but she is focused on moving
forward.
"All of those moments are bittersweet," Mariah she told
Entertainment Tonight. "But you just have to focus on whatever
you're focusing on and keep it moving."
