Mariah Carey returns to the bar where she dislocated her shoulder

Mariah Carey returned to the New York City bar where she dislocated her shoulder last year (13) to celebrate the launch of her upcoming album.

The Hero superstar is gearing up to release her as-yet-untitled 14th studio record and she held a listening party for industry insiders and friends at Avenue nightclub in Manhattan on Wednesday (02Apr14).

The appearance marks the first time Carey has visited the club since she was injured while filming a music video at the venue last July (13).

The singer cracked a rib and dislocated her shoulder after falling from a bar during the shoot, and she subsequently spent several weeks with her arm in a sling.

Carey managed to laugh off the accident when she took to the microphone during the party, telling the audience she was "happy to be back at the venue" after she "fell off the bar and separated her shoulder", according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.
