Mariah Carey launches Las Vegas residency

Mariah Carey was carried into the Caesars Palace resort by men dressed as gladiators to mark the launch of her Las Vegas residency.

The pop superstar made a grand entrance in Sin City on Monday (27Apr15) to celebrate the start of her Mariah #1 to Infinity shows at the casino's The Colosseum venue next month (May15).

Carey arrived in a pink car behind 18 billboards emblazoned with the names of her number one songs, and she then climbed onto a red velvet recliner to be carried into the resort by hunky performers.

The singer documented the event in a series of photographs on her Instagram.com page, and added in a caption, "Festivity!!! Thank you for such an amazing welcome. See you at the shows!!!! #1toInfinity."

The shows begin on 6 May (15) and run until July (15).
