Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon celebrate Thanksgiving in Hawaii

Former couple Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon jetted off to Hawaii to celebrate America's Thanksgiving Day on Thursday (24Nov16).

The Hero hitmaker and Cannon were married from 2008 until their split in 2014, but they have remained on good terms for the sake of their twins, Moroccan and Monroe, and have made it a priority to celebrate the holidays as a family.

On Thursday, weeks after finalizing their divorce, they headed to Hawaii for Thanksgiving and Mariah shared a series of pictures on Instagram of herself grocery shopping for the occasion, posing with fans, and later gathering with Nick, their children, and other family members and friends.

"#cooking up a #thanksgiving feast #thankful," she wrote in a caption for one of the photos on the social media site.

The gathering comes after the singer admitted she had no idea Nick's ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell was pregnant with his child - until she quizzed him about it just recently.

"I'll always be supportive of him," she told Extra earlier this week (ends25Nov16). "This (pregnancy) is all news to me, 'cause I didn't know about this till maybe last week. I asked him a question (about it) and then he kinda said yes, but didn't, and I'm like, it's kinda confirmed. If he's happy that's great."

Nick has previously spoken about his desire to keep the family dynamic close despite his split from Mariah, telling People.com, "I think that'll be something that we'll always embrace... and continue to make sure that we keep everyone focused on love."

Following her divorce from the America's Got Talent host, Mariah embarked on a whirlwind romance with billionaire James Packer, who proposed in January (16). The pair has since parted ways, but the singer insists despite her love woes, she is doing "well".

"Everything happens for a reason...," she told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday (23Nov16). "Things are the way they are."
