Man arrested on Lana Del Rey's property
An overzealous Lana Del Rey fan has been arrested after allegedly camping out in the garage of the singer's California home.
The Born to Die star is currently having construction work done on her beachfront Malibu pad, where a building worker came across the male trespasser on Monday (30Nov15).
A police source tells news show Entertainment Tonight the man had
allegedly turned the garage into a living space, but he had
disappeared by the time authorities were called to the scene.
He left behind his laptop and various notes, which suggest he
believed he had a "spiritual connection" with Lana.
"Based on ramblings in his notes, he was clearly infatuated with
Lana," says the insider.
The notoriously-private singer is not thought to have come into
contact with the suspected intruder, described as a 19-year-old
white male, who was reportedly tracked down in Santa Monica on
Tuesday (01Dec15) and arrested.
He is believed to have recently travelled to California from Kansas
and has since been booked on a charge of felony burglary after
allegedly stealing one of Lana's books, reports TMZ.com.
A representative for Lana has yet to comment on the arrest.
The singer moved into the $3 million Malibu home in June (15) in a
bid to get away from obsessed fans, who were camping outside her
previous property in Los Angeles' Hancock Park.
News of Lana's latest security scare emerges weeks after she
reportedly split from her photographer boyfriend Francesco
Carrozzini after more than a year of dating.
Sources told the New York Daily News last month (Nov15) the couple
split because Francesco was not willing to take the relationship to
the next level.
"They love each other, but she's wanted to settle down for over a
year now and he's just not there yet," an insider revealed.
Lana dated rocker Barrie-James O'Neill from 2011 to 2014, while she
was also previously linked to musician Steven Mertens.
