Malik/Khan 'selfie' breaks Twitter records in India

A 'selfie' taken by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, featuring himself and former One Direction star Zayn Malik, has shattered Twitter records in India.

The two stars met up at the Asian Awards in London last week (ends17Apr15) and the pop star agreed to pose with Khan for a cellphone photo, which has now been retweeted 120,000 times, making it the most popular from an Indian Twitter handle.

The 'selfie' has also been 'favourited' 170,000 times since Khan posted it on 17 April (15), alongside the message: "This kid is so cool. May Allah bless him. Dinner time at the Asian Awards."

Khan is the Indian personality with the second-highest number of followers on his account, 12.6 million - almost two million behind Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan.

Both Malik and Khan were honored at the Asian Awards.
