Lil Wayne beats Elvis Presley's chart record on birthday

Written by . Published: September 27 2012

Lil Wayne has an extra reason to celebrate his 30th birthday on Thursday (27Sep12) - he has stolen Elvis Presley's crown by scoring the most Billboard Hot 100 entries.

Presley managed to hold on to the honour from the chart's launch in 1958, but now the Lollipop hitmaker has outdone him with his appearance on The Game's song Celebration, which debuted at number 82 this week (begs24Sep12).

The rock 'n' roll legend is now one behind Lil Wayne's 109 entries, which sets a new record for a solo artist.

The triumph is down to the hip-hop star's regular guest spots on records, including tracks by Juvenile and Destiny's Child, as well as his solo hits.
