Lil' Flip arrest warrant dropped
Rapper Lil' Flip is no longer a wanted man after a judge agreed to drop a warrant for his arrest over his failure to attend a scheduled court appearance last month (Apr13).
Lawyers for the hip-hop star, real name Wesley Eric Weston, Jr, filed legal papers earlier this week (begs29Apr13) claiming that their client was unaware of the intended court date due to poor schedule management.
The judge agreed to recall the warrant and rescheduled a new
hearing for July (13), according to TMZ.com.
The missed court appearance relates to the rapper's arrest in
Louisiana on 26 December (12) after traffic cops allegedly found
marijuana and an AR-15 rifle in his car.
He previously pleaded not guilty to three counts of possession of a
firearm, narcotics possession and speeding in February (13),
arguing that he had a license for the gun and the supposed
marijuana cigarettes were actually Black & Mild tobacco cigars.
