Liam Payne recovers after illness
Liam Payne has assured fans he is ready to return to the stage for One Direction's concert on Wednesday (21Oct15) following his bout of illness.
The Drag Me Down singers' show in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Tuesday (20Oct15) was called off as fans waited inside the SSE Arena for the gig to start because Liam had suddenly been taken ill.
The remainder of their three-night run was thrown into doubt, but
Liam has now taken to Twitter.com to apologise for the cancellation
and assure fans he is well enough to perform.
"I'm so sorry to everybody I disappointed last night," he writes.
"I'm feeling better now. I really hope everyone can make the
rescheduled date on Friday. Thank you so much for all the trends
and lovely messages you guys did for me it really shows how amazing
u (you) guys actually are... As I said I'm feeling much better now
and I really can't wait to perform and make it up to everyone
later."
Liam did not reveal the nature of his illness. His bandmate Harry
Styles spoke about the incident to British radio DJ Chris Evans on
BBC Radio 2, saying, "He was trying to get there last night and he
was just very, very ill. To be honest we feel kinda lucky that we
got to this point and never cancelled one (concert), so obviously
we're all very disappointed...
"But it happened so late because we were trying to get on and then
it was just impossible, he wasn't well enough so we very, very much
apologise to everyone. We're very sorry. We're very disappointed
ourselves, as I said."
The boyband's three-night run at the venue now begins on Wednesday
night, with the cancelled show rescheduled for Friday
(23Oct15).
