Leona Lewis backs campaign to ban ivory trade in Thailand

Leona Lewis has urged her fans to sign a petition calling for officials in Thailand to ban ivory trading in the country.
Bosses of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) have launched an online campaign asking the nation's Prime Minister, Yingluck Shinawatra, to make ivory trade in the country illegal to reduce the numbers of elephants slaughtered for their tusks.
The Bleeding Love hitmaker, a keen animal rights campaigner, is
backing the call and has linked to the online petition on her
Twitter.com page.
In an accompanying post, she writes, "Poaching for illegal ivory
trade devastates wild elephant populations. kill the trade + ban
Thai ivory."
