Lena Dunham steps out for first time since hospitalization
Lena Dunham is back on her feet just three weeks after undergoing emergency surgery.
The Girls creator and star was hospitalized on 5 March (16) after suffering a ruptured ovarian cyst as part of her ongoing battle with chronic gynaecological condition endometriosis.
She was treated and released to continue her recovery at home on 7
March (16), but on Friday (18Mar16), Lena assured fans she was
firmly on the mend as she stepped out to run errands in Los
Angeles. The 29-year-old was photographed out and about in a red
skirt and a T-shirt bearing the words: "Sex, Politics & TV".
At the time of her hospital discharge, she reached out to fans on
Instagram to thank them for their support.
"Thank you so much for the love," she wrote. "I'm safely out of the
hospital and recuperating. Your well wishes mean the world. I can't
wait to be up and active, and to show my thanks."
"My gynecologist says I'm a 'good girl' so I have achieved all I
ever dreamed of," she shared in another update with fans two days
later. "Loving you all from bed, even the rude bois (boys) out
there."
Lena's errand run on Friday marked her first public appearance
since her medical troubles, but she is due to officially return to
the spotlight on Sunday night (20Mar16) as she hosts a political
fundraiser for Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton.
She will join fellow actress America Ferrera and Hillary's
daughter, Chelsea Clinton, to co-present the private bash at the
NeueHouse social club in West Hollywood, California.
