LeAnn Rimes hospitalised in Ireland
Leann Rimes was forced to cancel her gig in Ireland on Thursday (12Sep13) after she was admitted to a hospital emergency room.
The Blue hitmaker had been making a recovery after battling ill health in recent weeks, but her lingering cough took a turn for the worse while in Dublin, prompting Rimes to visit a local hospital.
Taking to her Twitter.com page, she wrote, "Never thought I'd see
the ER in Dublin. I have coughed myself into pain. The spasm is
intense. Being human sucks sometimes... I'm coughing and injured
myself. I'm feeling better otherwise. SUPER frustrating... it's
cause of the meds I'm on for my psoriasis... it lowers my immune
system and takes longer to get well."
The singer was set to perform at the Vicar Street venue, but she
called off the show and tweeted, "Thank you to all my fantastic,
understanding, loving fans here in Ireland."
A spokesperson for Rimes tells E! News the star had a "resurgence
of a viral infection that she has been struggling with the past two
weeks" and is "currently on vocal rest in her hotel room under a
doctor's care and a vocal specialist".
