Lea Michele: 'I love myself, flaws and all'
Lea Michele isn't pretending her body is perfect and happily embraces her flaws.
The Scream Queens star has shown off her trim figure for Women's Health UK, posing completely nude for the magazine's September issue. Admitting that she still feels her gym-honed body has its imperfections, the 29-year-old confidently poses for the publications third annual naked issue, "flaws and all".
Lea features in three images, including the cover where she is seen
peering over one shoulder, while using her hands to protect her
modesty, with her brunette tresses glamorously tossed over one
shoulder. Speaking openly about her image, Lea says she feels
empowered when she embraces her imperfections.
"I'm not perfect. I'm not trying to represent myself as being some
perfect girl, but I love myself, flaws and all. Everyone has their
own things, and I have my own list," she said in the accompanying
interview. "Right now, I feel physically in my best shape, and
emotionally in my best place."
Laid bare, Lea's dainty yet meaningful tattoos come to prominence,
including several tributes to her late boyfriend and Glee co-star
Cory Monteith, who died from a heroin and alcohol overdose in 2013.
On her bottom is inked the word Finn, which was the name of Cory's
character on the Fox musical-drama TV show, and she also the number
five tattooed under her arm, which she added in April (16) as a
dedication to his football playing character.
Lea, who is reportedly single after splitting from Robert Buckley
last month (Jul16), says that after experiencing so much personal
upheaval she's now determined to put her own wellbeing at the
forefront of her busy life.
"I have down days," she admitted. "I accept those days as much as
the happy ones."
"(I just) make some macaroni cheese, call my mom, pour a glass of
red wine and watch some reality television. There's nothing that
can't fix."
