Lambert plays show through tornado scare
Miranda Lambert's show in Wichita, Kansas was delayed on Saturday (14Apr12) after a tornado ripped through the city.
The singer was scheduled to play the Intrust Bank Arena in the evening, but a storm hit the area just before the concert, destroying homes and causing structural damage to properties.
Lambert told her Twitter.com followers, "Wichita will be great
tonight y'all. We pray the wind dies down... Although my bus is
rocking pretty hard. Gonna take my puppies inside."
And she played on through the chaos, updating fans after the show,
"We made it y'all. Thanks for coming out and for making it through
the delay with a smile. Wichita rocks."
Mandy Moore reached out to her fans on the site, declaring:
"Thinking of everyone in the path of those tornados in the
midwest!! STAY SAFE!!", while Martina McBride added, "Just got on
bus and found out about the tornadoes in Wchita (sic)... prayers
going up 4 everyone. Call your loved ones there!!! They may be
asleep."
And in a post on her own page, Chely Wright wrote, "Alright, my
Kansas (and other Midwestern friends) be safe, watch the news and
alert each other about tornadoes. If u know anyone in Wichita, KS &
u think they might've gone to sleep at this hour or they might not
be watching news, call them."
