Lady Gaga brushes off fur critics
Lady Gaga has brushed off criticism about her apparent decision to wear fur just hours after Peta boss Dan Matthews fired off an angry letter to the star over her fashion choices.
The Poker Face hitmaker caused controversy after she stepped out draped in what appeared to be a pink mink coat last week (ends12Aug12) following a trip to a Giorgio Armani store in New York.
Matthews, the organisation's vice president, was disgusted by
Gaga's choice of clothing and accused her of breaking a 2011
promise to her animal-loving chat show pal Ellen DeGeneres not to
wear fur. He also took offense at the wolf carcass stole she posed
with for the poster of her movie debut Machete Kills earlier this
year (12).
Scottish actor Alan Cumming also took aim at the 26 year old on
Twitter.com, writing, "I'm so disappointed to learn ladygaga wears
fur! Guess she doesn't love all little monsters".
Gaga has now spoken out about the furor, taking to her Little
Monsters website and addressing the drama: "For those press and
such who are writing about whether or not my fur is actually real,
please don't forget to credit the designer HERMES. Thank You! LOVE,
gaga."
