Kylie Minogue fights back tears remembering Michael Hutchence

Pop star Kylie Minogue fought back tears while discussing her tragic ex-boyfriend Michael Hutchence in a new TV interview.

The Spinning Around hitmaker opened up about her time with the INXS frontman during a chat with TV show 60 Minutes, and she was almost overcome with emotion recalling her former love.

Talking about her time with her fellow Australian musician, she says, "It's a mixture, a mixture of emotions and memories... I'd never met anyone like that... It was great love and it was true heartbreak... I had so many firsts with him."

Minogue and Hutchence dated between 1989 and 1991 but remained close friends following their break-up until Hutchence's suicide in 1997.
