Kim Kardashian repurposes her dresses for four-year-old daughter North
Kim Kardashian cuts her dresses down to fit her four-year-old daughter North.
The 36-year-old has changed her style in recent months going for very revealing ensembles, such as latex outfits or sheer tops and skirts. But with her more modest ensembles, Kim is all about repurposing them so that North, her eldest child with husband Kanye West, can put her own spin on them.
"It’s been such a fun journey to figure out how our kids like to dress and how to make cool clothes for kids," Kim told T Singapore, The New York Times Style Magazine. "We’ve always been tailoring things and cutting things up, or taking dresses of mine and cutting them down to North’s size."
Kim and Kanye have now found huge success designing clothes for kids, launching their childrenswear line Kids Supply earlier this year (17).
It was recently reported that the couple are preparing to extend their family further after enlisting the help of a surrogate who is said to be expecting their third child. And when it comes to her offspring, Kim loves nothing more than spending time with North and son Saint, who turns two this December.
"My whole world is my kids, it’s all I care about… from literally every last thing that they do to what they wear, to all their activities," she smiled. "I love being their mom. I definitely don’t hang out with my friends as much just because I have to be with my kids."
When Kim first emerged on the celebrity scene, she was an avid user of social media. However, since being held at gunpoint during a robbery attempt in Paris, France, last year, the reality star has made a concerted effort to cut back on her tweeting and 'gramming.
And she admitted that since doing so, she has a new view on the power of social media.
"It’s funny – so much can go on at home but if you don’t post about it, people think it never happened," she mused. "So they’ll say, ‘She hasn’t posted with her sisters, she must be in a huge fight.’ But it’s not what consumes me anymore, like how it used to… When you realize you can put a message out there and there’s so many people listening, you look at life differently."
