Khloe Kardashian gets 'more sad' on her birthday

Khloe Kardashian turned 32 on Monday (27Jun16), and confessed she gets "more sad" as she celebrates her birthday with each passing year.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star marked the occasion by taking to her website and app to admit to her fans that she's usually let down by her birthday and subsequently doesn't look forward to it each year.

"I love other people's birthdays, but to be honest, I get more sad for my birthday," she wrote. "They've been so negative in the past that I'm always like, 'What's going to happen this year?' I had the best birthday last year because it was the first time someone did something for me that I didn't ask for. It was the first time I felt like I knew what birthdays were supposed to be like. There were only twelve of us, but it was so nice.

"Look, I'm not all 'woe is me,' and I don't need to do much. But then that's why we don't do much. No one takes charge."

Khloe, who recently re-filed for divorce from estranged husband Lamar Odom, added that the only gift she wants isn't a material item, writing, "My wish for myself this year is internal happiness."

"I'm big on peace and happiness, and that's all I want," she said. "The rest will come. I think as I've gotten older, I feel more secure and settled with who I am, but at the same time, I'm more open to changing myself for the better. I'm not as stubborn as I was when I was younger."

Despite the melancholy message, Khloe did receive a number of well wishes from her fans and family members, including older sister Kim Kardashian, who posted a sweet photo of the two of them at a tennis court in their younger years.

"Happy Birthday to the most beautiful soul and a**, Koko @khloekardashian," Kim wrote. "You constantly surprise me with your strength and determination. I've learned so much from you in this life time, I'm so proud to call you my sister and best friend! And the best auntie to my babies! I love you okkkkkuuurrrr (sic)!"

Their mom Kris also wrote on social media, "Happy Birthday to my beautiful Bunny @khloekardashian... You are the most beautiful girl inside and out. You are the light of our family through thick and thin and are the strongest woman I have ever known.

"You are the most amazing daughter, sister, auntie, friend, and you have the biggest heart. You are so kind, selfless, and generous with everyone. You are so funny, so smart, and have incredible work ethic and a powerful drive that is contagious."

She concluded, "I am so proud and completely blessed to have you as my daughter. I love you more than you will ever know and cherish each and every moment with you...have the best day my pretty girl!!!".
