Kendra Wilkinson: 'Marriage and friendship is back on track after cheating scandal'
Former Playboy pin-up Kendra Wilkinson has dismissed reports suggesting she and her husband Hank Baskett have renewed their wedding vows following a cheating scandal that rocked their marriage earlier this year (14), but she insists the couple's relationship and friendship is back on track.
The former football star was forced to move out of the family home after allegations suggesting he had been unfaithful with a transsexual emerged this summer (14).
The fall-out from the tabloid expose was featured on Wilkinson's
reality show Kendra On Top and she recently confessed she did not
know if the marriage was repairable after the drama.
But in a new TV interview with Access Hollywood Live on Friday
(07Nov14), the former nude model revealed things are looking up for
her and her husband.
She said, "I know what happened. There is some investigation going
on right now and that's why I have to stay away from some things...
There's a truth but most of it is not the truth...
"We did not renew our vows... but we are on the road to recovery,
we are on the road to friendship again... Our marriage has been
shaken up and I believe that this is something that is gonna renew
us as people, renew us as friends."
Her latest interview comes just days after the release of audio
purportedly featuring Baskett attempting to reason with the
transsexual who detailed her fling with him in the tabloids.
Wilkinson confirmed the male voice on the phone audio is that of
her husband, but she insists he was trapped into saying just what
the "home wrecker" on the other end of the line wanted him to
say.
She added, "If you had one chance to save your family, to save
yourself... the most amazing children, the most amazing wife, the
most amazing life, you're not gonna go and scream and yell and
threaten... You're gonna play a game, you're gonna play ball and he
was smart by doing that. Unfortunately, he got trapped up (sic)...
and it's sad because they got an innocent, vulnerable guy. It's so
sad.
"We're talking about Superman here, we're talking about, like, a
guy's guy... a straight, amazing man, God-loving... One who
worships his family.
"It's real tape but it's manipulated, it's cut up and there is
someone behind that who is putting it together... and they're
cutting out this other person (Baskett)."
Kendra claims the tape and the story was released when Baskett
refused to pay to keep his accuser silent: "He did not pay and now
you know why we're here. People out there pay and they're hushed...
Hank did not pay."
