Kendall Jenner's trespasser escapes with time served

A man convicted of trespassing at Kendall Jenner's Hollywood Hills home has been sentenced to time served.

Shavaughn McKenzie was arrested after following the model and reality TV star through a gated driveway onto her property in August (16).

Startled Jenner yelled at him before driving away from her home and calling police, and he was subsequently taken into custody.

He went to trial last month (Oct16) and was found guilty of trespassing, but he was cleared of a more serious charge of misdemeanor stalking.

McKenzie returned to a Los Angeles court on Thursday (10Nov16), when the judge overseeing the case sentenced the 25-year-old to 178 days behind bars - the maximum penalty allowed.

However, he was given credit for 89 days already served, while the other 89 days have been waived as a result of good behavior, allowing him to walk free.

His lawyer, Taylor J. Shramo, revealed the Florida native's mother had already purchased plane tickets to have McKenzie return home, where she plans to keep an eye on him.

Shramo had previously told the court his client didn't mean to scare Jenner; he simply wanted to have a chat.

Jenner, 21, was called to testify during the trial, when she told the court she had recognized McKenzie from two earlier confrontations.

"I've never been so scared in my life," the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star said, as she recalled being approached by the stranger.

"I was crying, I was screaming, I was freaking out," she continued. "I didn't know what his intentions were... I was frightened for sure."
