Kendall Jenner breaks down while addressing Pepsi ad controversy

Kendall Jenner broke down in tears as she recalled her reaction to the controversy surrounding her infamous Pepsi ad during the season premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians on Sunday night (01Oct17).

The 21-year-old found herself at the center of a scandal following the April release of the controversial advert, which saw Kendall using a can of soda to unite demonstrators and police officers at a protest. Many complained that the advert was trivializing the tensions between minorities and law enforcement forces in America, leading to Pepsi pulling the ad.

Now Kendall has spoken about the controversy for the first time, telling sister Kim Kardashian she felt terrible about the drama her advert had caused.

"I feel really bad that anyone was ever offended. I feel really bad that this was taken such a wrong way and I genuinely feel like s**t," she said, adding that she had "no idea how I'm going to bounce back from it."

Kim tried to comfort her sister, telling her: "This is the first time you've had a scandal. This is your first real experience with something like this. It's OK…. This is just gonna be the biggest lesson learned for you." But Kendall responded: "It's really depressing and it bothers me every single day."

Kendall then took part in a solo interview with the Keeping Up With the Kardashians cameras, and failed to hold back her tears as she spoke about how much she has been affected by the criticism surrounding the ad.

"I would never purposely hurt someone, ever. And obviously if I knew this was gonna be the outcome, I would have never done something like this," she said, wiping tears from her eyes. "But you don't know when you're in the moment.

"I felt so... stupid. The (idea) that I would offend other people or hurt other people was definitely not the intent. And that's what got me the most."
