R&B star Kelly Rowland has cut back on the sugary treats she loves to maintain one of the hottest bodies in showbusiness.
The Motivation hitmaker recently showed off her toned body to promote her Sexy Abs fitness DVD, but the singer admits she has had to make some drastic diet changes to ensure she sees the benefits of her intense work outs.
She explains, "My trainer, Jeanette Jenkins, taught me so much, of course (about) abs, but she taught me this 80/20 rule because I love sweets, I love cookies, I love cakes, I love pies, I love sugar, I love candy, I love anything that has sugar in it! I had to cut it all off, so I cut it off."
Kelly Rowland's lack of sugar initially turned her into a monster - but she has learned to cope with her cravings by only indulging in her sweets every now and then to balance out her diet.
She continues, "I swear, I was like a crazy person, and mean as hell! But I did it and I got those results (from her Sexy Abs workout), it really worked!"
Explaining the "80/20 rule", the former Destiny's Child star adds, "Eighty per cent of the time you're doing everything healthy. You eat greens and stuff that ain't (sic) fun to eat, but it's good for you; it's what your body needs. But then (the rest of the time is) stuff that I like to eat - sugars, cakes, cookies, pies, maybe a little cocktail in there - that's all fun stuff."
