Kelly Rohrbach taking over Pamela Anderson's Baywatch role

Leonardo DiCaprio's latest ex-girlfriend Kelly Rohrbach has been given something to smile about after landing the Baywatch role made famous by Pamela Anderson.

Reports suggesting the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit beauty and actress split from Leonardo late last year (15) due to their busy work schedules surfaced on Monday (04Jan16), and now Kelly has a new project to focus on as she prepares for her big screen breakthrough.

She will don the famous red swimsuit and hit the beach as lifeguard C.J. Parker for the Baywatch film, alongside Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, and Alexandra Daddario.

Dwayne shared the news on Instagram on Monday (04Jan16), when he posted a slow-motion video of himself running alongside Kelly on a beach. At the end of the clip, the cheeky wrestler-turned-actor shoves Kelly, causing her to fall to the ground.

"For our #BAYWATCH and the iconic role of CJ Parker I had to make sure @kellyrohrbach was... tough," he captioned the footage.

Dwayne is stepping into David Hasselhoff's role as Mitch Buchannon, while his San Andreas co-star Alexandra has been cast as Summer, the character Nicole Eggert played on the hit 1990s TV show.

Alexandra previously revealed she was putting herself on a holiday diet to make sure she looked her best in the sexy swimsuits.

"I'm starting to cut out wine and cheese to the best of my ability in order to prepare for it," she told People.com. "I'm pretty consistently fit because I think it's an important part of my work, but I will ramp it up just because I have been enjoying myself a little bit too much."
