Kelly Clarkson and Pink are to open the American Music Awards together on Sunday (19Nov17).

The live collaboration is a dream come true for Clarkson, who has often spoken of her hopes for a Pink duet.

She recently told Entertainment Weekly, "I'm a huge fan of Pink. I haven't had the chance yet to work with her. I think if you project it enough, it might happen, right?"

And the Since U Been Gone singer is a big fan of Pink's hit new album, Beautiful Trauma.

"I love her because she has done the whole singer-songwriter record... and she does pop, she loves rock," Kelly added, revealing she also respects the Trouble singer as a person: "She is who she is, and that's cool if you like her, and it's cool if you don't," she gushed. "I relate to that, so I think that's why I like her a lot."

Previous reports suggested Pink and Kelly would be performing at the AMAs, but not together - and not as the night's opening act.

2017 Lifetime Achievement honoree Diana Ross and Christina Aguilera will also line-up among the performers at the 2017 American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, while Florida Georgia Line will hit the stage with Bebe Rexha for a rendition of her new hit Meant to Be.
