Kellan Lutz raising awareness about nature conservation

Kellan Lutz has headed to Florida to raise awareness about the importance of conserving the state's Everglades National Park.

The Twilight hunk teamed up with officials from the Everglades Foundation to show fans the kind of animals under threat, and he even posed for a photograph with an alligator draped around his neck and shoulders to upload to his Twitter.com page.

Alongside the image, Lutz writes, "With an American alligator - 4 foot individual... It's nesting season now for these guys! Such beautiful animals! True dinosaurs. Help us protect them."
