Katy Perry reveals new album details on gold truck

Katy Perry thrilled fans in Los Angeles on Monday (29Jul13) by revealing the title and release date of her new album on a huge gold truck.

A day after the pop star hit Hollywood for the premiere of her new film The Smurfs 2, Perry became a hot topic on Twitter.com when eagle-eyed fans spotted her new promotional vehicle, which toured around town with the words 'Katy Perry. Prism. 10.22.13' printed on the side.

And the I Kissed a Girl hitmaker invited fans to be part of the promotional fun, tweeting, "Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I'll RT you. Don't worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map."

Asked by one Twitter fan if the gold truck's message was to promote her new album or single, the pop star replied, "Album!"
