A painting of pop star Katy Perry is set to go on display at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
Artist Will Cottonwork's work, entitled Cupcake Katy, will be exhibited at the prestigious museum from on 18 June (14).
The portrait depicts Perry as a baked good, wearing a white and
silver cupcake wrapper as a dress and a headband made out of
lollipops.
Cotton's works gave Perry the inspiration for her candy-themed
California Gurls music video, for which the artist served as the
artistic director.
The Roar hitmaker joins the likes of Beyonce, Madonna and Michael
Jackson, whose portraits have all been part of the Smithsonian
collection.
