Katt Williams: 'I need guns in home to keep children safe'

Embattled comedian Katt Williams has defended his decision to allow guns in his home following his arrest on suspicion of child endangerment on Friday (28Dec12), insisting he needs the weapons to keep his kids safe.
Cops visited the funnyman's Los Angeles home and detained him for allegedly endangering four children. Officials at L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services reportedly found guns and drugs in the house which they deemed a safety hazard for the kids.
Williams was released from custody on $100,000 bail later on
Friday, and he is adamant keeping guns stored in his home is not
endangering his children.
He tells TMZ.com, "How do you keep kids safe without guns? If the
police come in and raid my place and break into my gun boxes,
you're gonna find guns! I'm not in a gang, what difference does it
make?"
Speaking out about the drug allegations, the star added, "Weed is
not a drug."
Embattled Williams - who has been arrested on several occasions in
recent months over allegations including harassment, assault and
reckless driving - found himself embroiled in more drama following
his release from jail as his pal Marion 'Suge' Knight became
involved in a brawl outside a Hollywood club.
Williams had enjoyed an evening out with Knight at the Eden
hotspot, but the rap mogul was caught up in a fight outside the
venue.
The funnyman was spotted walking away from the brawl, while Knight
allegedly clipped a man with his vehicle as he left the scene,
according to TMZ.
Williams is set to find out in the coming week whether he will face
felony child endangerment charges as the case is due to go before
the District Attorney.
