Karrueche Tran speaks out about bad boy Brown: 'I didn't want to believe he'd leave me for Rihanna'

Chris Brown's ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran has broken her silence about her romance with the troubled R&B star, revealing she stayed with him during his 2014 prison spell after he broke her heart by returning to Rihanna, because she deeply cared for the singer.

In a new TV exclusive, which will air on Oprah Winfrey's OWN TV network on Saturday (28Mar15), the model tells Iyanla: Fix My Life host Iyanla Vanzant she tried so hard to give her ex exactly what he wanted - but it wasn't enough.

Tran says, "I know what I saw, and I know how I wanted to react and how I wanted to treat the relationship, or treat him. I wanted to love him because that's what he needs. Love."

After a scolding from the TV therapist for not putting herself first in the relationship, Tran teared up as Vanzant quizzed her about her ex's Rihanna romance.

Brown dumped Tran in 2013 for a brief fling with his ex, who he infamously beat up during a row on the eve of the Grammy Awards in 2009.

The model reveals Brown was open about meetings with Rihanna, but she never thought he would leave her for the Umbrella singer.

She adds "I was under the impression that it was a friend... not a friend, but it wasn't what it became to be.

"I knew (but) I didn't want to believe it... (because) I loved him."

After standing by her man throughout his many legal woes and other issues in recent years, Tran decided enough was enough earlier this year (15) after she learned Brown had fathered a lovechild with another model, Nia Guzman.
