Karrueche Tran in talks for America's Next Top Model - report
Chris Brown's ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran is reportedly in talks to take the reins of Tyra Banks' TV model search show.
Tran, who dumped Brown after learning he'd fathered another model's child last year (15), has been approached as a judge for the TV revamp of America's Next Top Model.
The show has been picked up by TV bosses at VH1 in America, who
hope to give the series a whole new look, complete with a new panel
of judges.
According to Page Six, Karrueche, who is represented by the
Wilhelmina Models agency, is at the top of their wish list.
If she signs on, the show will mark Tran's first major television
appearance, although she has featured in the TV film Rip the Runway
as herself, and the series Vanity and The Bay. She also has a
string of acting credits in movies like 3-Headed Shark Attack and A
Weekend With the Family.
Karrueche also has two films in post-production, Welcome to Willits
and Only for One Night.
America's Next Top Model was picked up by VH1 bosses last month
(Feb16), just two months after new mum Tyra Banks' long-running
reality TV project was cancelled by executives at America's CW
network.
The most recent 22nd season ended in December (15).
The new series will return to New York City, and it will be the
first season not hosted by creator Banks.
The supermodel, who welcomed her first child via a surrogate in
January (16), will stay on as an executive producer, along with
original producer Ken Mok.
Banks shared her excitement for ANTM's new life in a statement,
which read: "After creating an incredible, global brand, I am
beyond excited to have the show reborn. I will continue as
Executive Producer, but must turn my attention to new business
endeavors, so I want to find a new host. I'm pumped to identify
that person and bring back the show. Top Model fans, you demanded
that the show come back, and VH1 answered the call. Get ready for a
fierce-a-fied rebirth!"
