Karlie Kloss reigns surpreme at Elle Style Awards

Supermodel Karlie Kloss was given the top honor of Inspiring Woman of the Year at the Elle Style Awards in London on Tuesday night (23Feb16).

The former Victoria's Secret Angel was feted for her success in the fashion world and her entrepreneurial and philanthropic work. Kloss is currently studying computer programming at New York University, and last year (15), she launched a scholarship program, called Kode with Karlie, which aims to inspire a new generation of women to learn how to code.

The 23-year-old, who was the first-ever recipient of the Elle honor, fought off a bad cold to attend the prizegiving, and kept her acceptance speech short as she was losing her voice.

The accolade comes a year after her best friend Taylor Swift picked up the Woman of the Year honor at the 2015 prizegiving.

Other winners on Tuesday night included model Jourdan Dunn (Style Influencer of the Year), Liv Tyler (TV Actress of the Year), Elizabeth Olsen (Actress of the Year) and Lana Del Rey (Female Artist of the Year), while Annie Lennox was given the Outstanding Achievement Award.

It was also a big night for reunited pop group All Saints, who performed as part of their 2016 comeback. The foursome is expected to release its new single, Red Flag, on Friday (26Feb16).

Hosted by former The X Factor judge Nick Grimshaw, the annual celebration was held at London's Tate Britain and marked the end of London Fashion Week.
