Kara Dioguardi will make her Broadway bow on Tuesday night (06Sep11) after delaying her start in Chicago due to Hurricane Irene.
The songwriter and one-time American Idol judge was scheduled to take the stage to begin her stint as murderess Roxie Hart in the musical on Monday (05Sep11), but she requested an extra day of rehearsals after her practise time was cut short by last month's (Aug11) storm, which brought Broadway to a standstill.
The star takes over from Christie Brinkley as Hart for an eight-week limited engagement. She joins stars like Brooke Shields, Marilu Henner, Bebe Neuwirth, Ashlee Simpson, Michelle Williams and Melanie Griffith, who have played Hart on Broadway.
